Digital Literacy: A New Flavour of Literacy or Something Different? Print E-mail

Abstract
Dr Combes explores digital literacy in our 24/7 world, where mobile devices provide our students with full text access to information and recreational reading that extends far beyond the physical collection found in the library. However, emerging research indicates that the literacy skills required to successfully navigate and make meaning from text, images and multimedia on screens, or digital literacy, are significantly different to those we use for reading print. Combes discusses what this means for student learning and our profession.
