Barbara Combes is an adjunct lecturer for the School of Information Studies at Charles Sturt University. Her major interest areas include the role of teacher librarians in education, information-seeking behaviour, online learning and the online experience in distance education particularly for first time users, information literacy, policy and planning. Barbara completed her PhD on the information-seeking behaviour of the Net Generation/Gen Y and still researches with colleagues in her particular interest areas. She is a member of the Literacy and Reading Section for the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), President of the Western Australian School Library Association (WASLA) and President of the Professional Teaching Council Western Australia.
