Abstract
The Information Fluency Framework (IFF), developed collaboratively by over 100 NSW teacher librarians between 2018 and 2021, represents a significant evolution in how Australian schools conceptualise and embed information skills across the curriculum. This article traces the development of the IFF, articulates its theoretical foundations, and explores its five interconnected elements — Social, Literate, Innovative, Critical, and Ethical. It examines how innovative pedagogies can be harnessed to deliver IFF outcomes, and how teacher librarians can exercise instructional leadership in championing the framework across their school communities. The article also positions the IFF within the contemporary context of artificial intelligence in education.
